Handpan LIVE

An Afternoon of Live Handpan at Centered!

Join us for a live handpan concert, an evening of sound designed to help you slow down and simply be present. The handpan is a melodic percussion instrument known for its warm, resonant tones and rich harmonic textures. Its sound blends melody and rhythm in a way that feels both soothing and expansive, wrapping the room in layers of gentle, evolving music.

Because each performance is improvised, no two evenings are ever the same. The music responds to the atmosphere in the room, drawing listeners into a meditative state where breath softens, thoughts quiet, and attention settles into the present moment. Whether you close your eyes and drift or simply listen, you're invited to relax, reflect, and experience the power of live sound.

Meet Our Handpan Musicians

Brian | Handpan Musician & Counseling Intern

Brian|Handpan Musician & Counseling Intern

Brian is a Clinical Mental Health Counseling student at Southern Connecticut State University, working toward licensure as a Professional Counselor (LPC). His approach integrates mindfulness and meditation, trauma-informed care, behavioral health, and somatic practices, with additional experience in ketamine-assisted therapy and sound healing. He believes in each client's innate capacity for healing and supports that process through compassion, presence, and collaboration, meeting people where they are and honoring their own pace.

Outside of his clinical work, Brian is a talented multi-instrumentalist and avid hiker. He has performed handpan at local events, where his warm, resonant playing invites listeners to slow down and settle into the moment. Here at Centered, he also plays alongside some of our KAT sessions, offering live, calming sound that helps create a grounded and supportive atmosphere.

His blend of clinical training and musical presence reflects a genuine commitment to care, connection, and the many ways healing can unfold, whether through conversation, movement, or sound.

Sajad | Handpan Musician

Sajad is a handpan musician with a passion for exploring the connection between sound, presence, and human experience. By day, he works as an MRI physicist at Yale University. On stage, he creates evolving soundscapes through an intuitive, improvisational approach, shaped by the atmosphere of each room. The handpan, a melodic percussion instrument known for its warm, resonant tones and rich harmonic textures, blends melody and rhythm into an immersive experience.

Unlike recorded music, a live handpan performance unfolds in the moment, inviting the audience to slow down, settle into the sound, and enjoy a shared, unrepeatable experience. Discover more of his music on Instagram: @aurora_millennium1

This event is free and open to everyone, with donations gratefully accepted to support our musicians.
