Robert Krause, (YU—QP3: MENTOR) has been certified through Yoga Unity as a mentor.
I have been practicing various forms of yoga for more than twenty years. For me the practice of yoga has been one that brings peace and clarity. It is at the same time a physical and psychological practice. Yoga has many forms and practices including asana practice (postures), pranayama (breathwork), yamas and niyamas (the ethical practices), meditation (dhyana) as well as other parts or limbs. My primary teacher has been Lori Bonazzoli. I studied to be a yoga teacher in India with Aum Pradesh Guar. Over more than the last decade I have studied classical tantric yoga and neo tantric approaches. My doctoral research involved evaluating a program of yoga and meditation to decrease acts of aggression in a state psychiatric hospital. The school that I am most influenced by and attempt to bring to all my work is the non-dualistic tantric yoga tradition. This tradition offers a unique and transformative approach to suffering, which is deeply rooted in the understanding that all experiences, both pleasurable and painful, are manifestations of the same underlying reality. This perspective allows practitioners to cultivate a sense of equanimity and compassion in the face of life's inevitable challenges. By embracing suffering as an integral aspect of the human experience, non-dualistic tantric yoga provides a means of transforming pain and adversity into opportunities for personal growth and awakening. I aspire to offer yoga classes that are both challenging and accessible to practitioners of all levels.
All the classes that I offer will have pieces of asana, pranayama, meditation and a brief introduction to the conceptual foundation of the practice.
